The One with Homemade Salsa
Ok, I’m breaking a baking blog rule today but I can’t help it! For Christmas, I received a new KitchenAid food processor from my in-laws ( they know me well!) and my heart literally skipped a beat. I’ve secretly had my eye’s on one for awhile and was THRILLED when I unwrapped that gift. My husband saw the excited look on my face and turned to me and said “ I had no idea you wanted one of those” — and oh, boy did I.
As you can imagine, I instantly started to research recipes (i.e. Pinteresting) and the many (many, many) uses of a food processor and could not wait to test mine out…. by making some homemade salsa.
Fun fact: Chips and Salsa is one of my all-time favorite foods. I could eat it all day, every day. :)
Ingredients:
1/2 white onion (roughly chopped)
1 bunch of cilantro (roughly chopped)
2 jalepenos (chopped)
1 teaspoon of cumin
1 (14.5 ounce) can of diced tomatoes (peeled)
1 lime (squeezed)
1 tablespoon of minces garlic
1 teaspoon of salt
Recipe:
Add ALL of your ingredients into the food processor.
Pulse a few times to get the largers pieces broken down. Continue to pulse until you have reached your desired consistency.
Finally, give it a taste test to make sure all of the seasoning and spices are to your liking. Don’t be afraid to add some extra cumin or jalepenos to give it an extra kick!
